Save our Sheringham - Say NO to Tesco

It can be done!

A supermarket application in Epsom has been turned down. Despite recommendations for approval by council planning officers, members declared it too big and too ugly and said its juggernaut deliveries and customer traffic would be too dangerous. They also said it would be too much of a commercial threat to the town's smaller traders.

Does that sound familiar. If Epsom can do it, then so can we.

  • A recent visit to the Midlans involed the use of one of the "better supermarkets". It stank of rotting fish: it smelt more like an old crab boat than the clean sweet smelling fishmongers in Sheringham and Holt. The supermarket had a "fresh fish counter", but clearly lacked the skill to run it. Similarly for a few days we were deprived of real bread and proper rolls in favour of plastic chewing gum. Is this the sort of muck we wnat? They will also attempt to kill the newsagents by supplying 60% of what people want. With Tesco you get the rubbish, like Israeli oranges which they want to see-ll (at inflated prices).
