A group of campaigners from Sheringham will be at the Tesco AGM in London today to take advantage of a shareholders right to ask questions of the board. There will also be demonstrations outside the meeting. With the support of Friends of the Earth
Tesco will be asked to pull out of towns that do not want them
. The Guardian
quotes the FoE as calling on Tesco to stand by the promise made in its community plan to properly consult locals before opening new stores. "Tesco must pull out of its 10-year battle to get planning permission for a new store in Sheringham if it truly wants to be considered a good neighbour."
